Product Description
Philip FRx Infant / Child Key
The FRx defibrillator only uses one type of pads so to allow it to be used on children under 55 pounds or younger than 8 years old you must insert the FRx Infant / Child key into the FRx to reduce the voltage applied before a shock is delivered.
Following the illustration to the left, the care giver would insert the child key into the slot at the top center of the front of the FRx defibrillator. The pink part of the key fits into the slot with the key lying flat on the surface of the defibrillator.
Once the FRx Child / Key has been installed you can then turn on the FRX and then follow the audio and visual instructions as would be provided normally.
With the Infant/Child Key inserted, the FRx will announce “Infant/Child Mode,” automatically reduce the defibrillation energy from the adult dose of 150 Joules to 50 Joules,* and provide optional infant/ child CPR Coaching.
If the Infant/Child Key is removed during use, the FRx will announce “Adult Mode.” Any shocks delivered will be at adult energy, and optional CPR Coaching will be for adult CPR.
When placing the pads on the child, you will put one pad on the chest, and the second pad on the back as shown in the illustration to the right. It doesn’t matter which pad is placed on the chest or back as seen in the illustration below.
